Whip City Animal Sanctuary
You know it’s going to be a crazy day when your morning starts off with a goat trying to eat your work nametag! That’s what happened to Laura, a member of the marketing team at Westfield Gas + Electric/Whip City Fiber when visiting the Whip City Animal Sanctuary. WG+E/WCF sponsored the sanctuary’s Saturday visiting hours during the month of October.
Whip City Animal Sanctuary provides a nurturing home and long-term care to surrendered, neglected, and abused animals. Whether it’s someone building a teeter totter for the goats to play on or giving belly rubs to Duke the pig, the sanctuary does what it can to provide a blissful life for the animals in their care. They are dedicated to ensuring all the animals they look after are comfortable and live in an enriching environment in their newly refurbished barn.
The WG+E/WCF team and a few of the devoted volunteers were delighted to meet Reed the horse and some of the chickens, cows, and other animals. After visiting the sanctuary, Laura affirmed “They have a dedicated team that’s working to give these animals a safe home. It was great to see the animals so happy in their new space.”
